A lot of people have asked our advice on what backpack to buy and all the gear we took on our month long trip to Europe, so here are all the details!
Backpacks:
Many hours of research led us to choose this Osprey backpack for moi and, this Eagle Creek backpack for the hubby.
My Osprey Fairview is perfectly made for women and super comfortable. I love putting the essentials in the daypack and zipping it off for sightseeing or when we check the backpacks at the airport.
We chose two different backpacks so that one of us could have the day pack that came with the Osprey. We really liked the layout of the Eagle Creek, so L.J. chose this backpack. It had a larger capacity (65L) and divided the kids gear from his. It also has a built in rain shield and a bag protector for checked baggage.
Another option we looked at includes the Osprey Farpoint line for men.
Other gear:
- We love these zipper organizers for separating toiletries, snacks, and miscellaneous items.
- These airtight compression sacks work miracles in space saving!
- I also added a Patagonia hip pack so that I could keep valuables safe and easily accessible. This was the best little purchase! It is so compact, so when I was not using it, I just folded it up and threw it in my daypack. I was able to carry a passport sized wallet, my iPhone X, a couple of lip balms, and brochures/tickets we picked up along the way. Highly recommend!
- My Chaco travel shoes were comfy and stylish (especially for hiking shoes). I wanted a pair of shoes that did not look too rugged so that I could still wear them around town. These fit the bill, and they are like walking on clouds!
- I also packed these Merrell shoes for a lightweight shoe around the city in case I was tired of my hiking shoes. Love.
- L.J.’s travel shoes, a new to us brand called La Sportiva.
Kids Gear:
- The Boba Air infant carrier was a life saver! We love how it zips up in a compact pouch!
- Uppababy G-Link Double Stroller
- GB Pockit Single Stroller
- LeapFrog Ultimate
- Nike tennis shoes
- Skip Hop travel play mat
