“Oh the places you’ll go…” – Dr. Seuss
I received this book as a high school graduation gift from one of my dearest friends. I remember thinking how funny and unexpected it was to receive a book that had long been forgotten from my childhood. Reading it at 18-years-old and every time since then, it inspires me in a new and special way. Here I am ten years later and one of my favorite books takes on a new meaning for me and my little family… We are off to “great places” for a little while!
We leave September 8th to kick off our trip in Scotland, a few days after L.J.’s 30th birthday. How very fitting indeed! Our trip was originally inspired by an interest in our Scottish ancestry, and we are excited to have an open ended itinerary that will allow us to study as much ancestry, history, and culture as our hearts desire. We are excited and thankful to celebrate this milestone birthday in such a big way. With a little one in tow, we will truly never have a dull moment. We cannot wait to see the world’s most majestic views and share the simplest pleasures with our little girl. It will be an adventure to say the least, so even if our “arms may get sore and [our] sneakers may leak. Oh! The places [we] will go!” The mountains, the lochs, and the cobblestone streets are calling our names, so follow along as we “get on our way!”
“Onward up many a frightening creek, though your arms may get sore and your sneakers may leak. Oh! The places you’ll go!”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
“It’s opener, out there, in the wide, open air.”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”

Hi Carla! Thank you for following! Yes, reminds me when we first started “blogging” in high school – do you remember Live Journal? Pam and I both had one! Good times. 🙂
