I am a toddler-toting, fashion blog-loving, history enthusiast girl with a compass, Kelley. I married my high school sweetheart, L.J., and together we have a sweet, redheaded daughter, Vivienne. We like to travel, go to brunch, drink coffee, and take long walks on the beach. For real. In that order. I studied Communication, Public Relations, and social media in college. I started reading blogs in college (before it was mainstream), and I have been an avid blog reader ever since. I always had a desire to start my own full-time blog, so finally (after many years) I am starting my own little creative space on the internet.
My passion for travel started when my parents bought me a large Rand McNally atlas for the family car. Hundreds of road, train, and airplane trips later I have yet to quench my thirst for travel and seeing the world. My parents have always instilled in me a strong appreciation and love for travel. My dad bought a TWA around the world ticket and backpacked all over the world in the 1980s. When he lived and worked in Norway, my mom visited him and they backpacked Europe together. I guess you can say this deep love for travel runs in my blood. 😉 I have always been inspired by the stories of their travels, so from an early age I planned to travel the world one day.
Along with my love of travel, I fell in love with my history books in 6th grade, minored in History in college, got married, traveled together, and had a baby. I shared my love of travel and adventure with L.J. who also grew to enjoy it almost as much as I do, and my childhood plans for seeing the world came to fruition when L.J. and I first married. Traveling often became a very important goal of ours early on. When we had Vivienne we knew we wanted her to share the same love for history and travel. I love traveling with my little family and seeing the world through Vivienne’s bright blue eyes and her very animated expressions. My desire to travel the world has been a part of me for as long as I can remember, but traveling with my husband and daughter brings me so much more happiness than I ever imagined possible. I hope you follow along as we embark on the next adventure of our lives.
I have my two redheads and my compass…the rest will be history. 😉
